Amboli Hills

Located in the Sahyadri ranges in the Western Ghats, Amboli is a quaint hill station, surrounded by thick forests of the Anjani tree and plantations of cardamom; and crisscrossed by a number of tiny streams. It is situated at a height of 690 m and is particularly known for the forests and steep mountains on one side and having the sandy Konkan coast on the other side. This hill station is also the wettest place in Maharashtra, receiving the maximum rainfall and is popular during the monsoons.
Attractions 
The main attractions are the many viewpoints that offer panoramic vistas of the valley such as Sea-view Point, Purvicha Vas, and Mahadevgad Point - all of which unfold a view of the Konkan coast merging with the Arabian Sea. Tourists can visit the ruins of Madhavgadh fort in the vicinity. One can also visit the historic botanical gardens and picnic there.  Mahadevgad and Narayangad are other hill stations in the area. There is also a small temple and a red laterite cave nearby that is a base for exploration by many trekkers.

The Amboli Falls is a beautiful and marvelous tourist attraction. The thrilling water falls draw many tourists to Amboli every year. The water falls is in full glory during the rainy season which starts from June and lasts till October. The rains fill Amboli with mis.
Nangartas Falls
The Nangartas Falls is situated 10 km from Amboli. It is placed Sindhudurg district. The falls is well known for its fresh and pleasing environs. It falls into an attractive and narrow ravine making deep and mysterious hell of a sound. This noise makes one aware that there is a fall just 10 ft from the road.
Madhavgad Fort
Madhavgad Fort offers great views of the surrounding forests, the Konkan and the Arabian Sea. The Madhavgad Fort is four times the size of Shaniwarwada in Pune. It is in a state of ruins but gives its visitors an idea of the war that took place here in the olden days.
Shiva Temple

Hiranyakeshi Uppam, where the Hiranyakeshi River springs has a small Shiva Temple built many years ago by a man who is believed to be a manifestation of lord Shiva. This spot is also a good for angling.

How To Get There
By Air
The nearest airport is Goa, which is connected by local flights to Mumbai and Bangalore. International flights are connected to Mumbai Airport, which is 555 km away from Amboli.
By Train
The nearest railhead is Savantwadi, which is 30 km away.
By Bus
Amboli is well connected by road to cities in Goa and Mumbai. Mostly taxies and three wheeled rickshaws are running in these roads.
